The Ascent takes place in a cyberpunk-themed dystopian world Veles, inside a metropolis run by corporations, where you and everyone else are working off their debts as indents, one cycle after another. Unfortunately, I cannot test if these issues persist for new playthroughs after the latest patch but I have not experienced any game-breaking bugs myself. Many issues in the past were related to playing the game in co-op. If you do decide to play the game, I recommend doing a full SOLO playthrough to minimize the risks of buggy achievements. As gamers progress, they will have plenty of gear to choose from. While the game has received a couple of patches to fix many issues (read here for the latest patch notes), some players report that certain achievements remain buggy. Cybernetics and Biometric attributes are preferred. Make sure that the armor equipped protects against all forms of damage and boosts the skills mentioned above. The system seems confusing, but the main priority to analyze is overall armor rating and attributes/boosts Players will also receive boosts from some pieces based on skill point allocation. Some pieces have attributes that apply extra skill points when worn. In the menu, players can inspect the armor resistance that each piece provides. RELATED: Awesome Things You Didn’t Know You Could Do In The AscentĪrmor plays a large role in each build as well. The opposite applies to living creatures. Robotic enemies are vulnerable to energy and digital damage, but resistant to ballistic and fire damage. Having all of the four types of damage covered will help indents adapt when fighting mobs, since each class of enemies is resistant to certain types of damage and vulnerable to others. In summary, players building for the Overwhelmer should distribute their skill points as below:Īs a secondary, players will need to have a weapon that does energy or digital damage. As one might expect, the Overwhelmer is a huge gun with a slower than average reload, so this skill is important. Weapon Handling will help indents reload and swap weapons faster. The huge machine gun has a large spread at the end of the clip, and narrowing the bullet path will make a huge difference. Aiming improves weapon spread, making it easier to hit shots with the Overwhelmer.A higher critical hit chance means more damage overall. Critical Hit Rate is essential for players that use weapons more than augmentations.RELATED: Comparing The Ascent's World to Cyberpunk 2077's Night City Critical Hit Rate, Aiming, and Weapon Handling will be the primary skills to invest in. As great as augmentations are, characters wielding this weapon will not need to rely on them. Make sure to get the character's heath bar up to at least 200 before level 20. With any build, Vital Signs should be a priority. Gamers will want to allocate their skill points to maximize the Overwhelmer's potential DPS owhile emphasizing survivability. Players will want to use the weapon against humans and other biological enemies. With upgrades, players can get those damage numbers even higher. It looks cool too, and provides a nice balance between machine guns and launchers.Ĭonsidering the gun can be accessed at a very low level, the Overwhelmer's damage is incredible. In total, the base Overwhelmer dishes out 607 DPS. It explodes on impact, causing ballistic damage and the explosions inflict additional fire damage to anyone caught in the AOE. The base version of the Overwhelmer does 101-142 damage.
